NASCAR and Betting Hero Reveal Insights into North Carolina’s Betting Trends
Betting Hero has partnered with NASCAR to explore the betting behaviors of North Carolinians. The research, carried out in April 2024, provides an in-depth look at the preferences of local bettor.
North Carolina’s NASCAR Betting Enthusiasm
According to the study, North Carolina residents are nearly three times more likely to bet on NASCAR than on other sports in comparison to bettors in other states. This places NASCAR as the fourth most popular betting activity in the state, just behind NFL, NBA, and MLB betting. A compelling 70% of surveyed bettors reported that their engagement with NASCAR racing was sparked initially by their betting activities.
Jai Maw, Co-Founder and President of Betting Hero, emphasized the importance of the findings: “Collaborating with NASCAR has been instrumental in our efforts to introduce fans to diverse betting options. The study reaffirms our belief in the potential to attract and engage both new and existing fans through tailored betting experiences.”
The Impact of Betting on Fan Engagement
Maw also discussed the direct correlation between betting and fan enjoyment, suggesting that enhanced betting markets and diverse prop options could further boost engagement levels.
“Expanding our betting markets is essential for keeping the fan experience fresh and engaging,” he added.
NASCAR’s Growing Influence in Sports Betting
The research also shed light on NASCAR’s impressive performance across the U.S. betting landscape. In states like Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Mississippi, NASCAR betting surged by more than 50% year-over-year. In Nevada and New York, the betting handle on NASCAR races doubled.
Joe Solosky, Managing Director of Sports Betting at NASCAR, shared his optimism about the evolving role of sports betting in fan engagement. “We are committed to refining the betting experience, providing fans with numerous options to engage responsibly with the action on the track,” he stated.
