Entain Receives Nevada License for partypoker, Paving the Way for BetMGM Poker NV Launch
Nevada regulators have issued a crucial license to Entain for its partypoker software. Development was finalized during the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) meeting on Thursday, where Entain’s applications, including the interactive gaming service provider license for its US subsidiary Bwin.Party, were approved unanimously.
Commission Meeting Insights
Executives and legal representatives from the UK-based gaming conglomerate Entain presented to the NGC for approximately 36 minutes during a monthly meeting that lasted nearly four hours.
Despite the brief mention of the specific license for Bwin.Party, the NGC followed the recommendation from the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and approved all applications from Entain. The NGCB had previously reviewed and recommended these applications on May 1.
Strategic Importance
This licensing approval is a great move for BetMGM, a 50/50 joint venture between Entain and MGM Resorts International.
BetMGM is poised to enhance its poker offerings in Nevada with the integration of partypoker software, which is known for its robust platform and user experience.
MGM Resorts International, which partners with Entain in the BetMGM venture, received its 14th extension for its interactive gaming license in April 2024.
This extension was initially granted in November 2012, reflecting the ongoing preparations and regulatory processes involved in launching BetMGM Poker NV.
