Washington DC Sports Betting Sets All-Time Record with $68.2 Million in November Handle
The sports betting market in Washington, DC, reached a record handle of $68.2 million in November, surpassing October’s record by 3.6% and marking a 117.6% year-over-year increase.
Gross Gaming Revenue Hits New Heights
With one month remaining in the calendar year, the year-to-date handle in Washington, DC has climbed to $291.9 million, nearly tripling the $103.1 million recorded during the entire fiscal year of 2023.
The district also saw a sharp rise in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) during November, which reached $8.9 million. This more than doubled the $4.2 million generated in October and represented a 152% increase from November 2023.
Washington DC’s sports betting industry delivered $2.1 million in tax revenue in November alone. This brought the year-to-date tax contributions from sportsbooks to $6.9 million.
FanDuel and DraftKings Dominate the Market
FanDuel continued to lead the Washington DC sports betting market in November, posting the highest handle among operators with $18.8 million.
DraftKings followed with $6.7 million. Together, these two major platforms accounted for a great portion of the market, showing their status as key players in the region’s sports betting industry.
Fanatics also contributed to November’s success, recording a handle of $2.8 million. This translated into $300,000 in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) and $90,000 in tax contributions. While its share of the market remains smaller than that of FanDuel and DraftKings, Fanatics tries to make its mark with its steady growth.
