UNO isn’t hitting Las Vegas casino tables as a betting game, despite online buzz sparked by a mistaken DraftKings Casino post on X. The post, quickly retracted, falsely claimed UNO was becoming a casino table game.

Mattel, UNO’s maker, clarified on social media, “The casino floor isn’t ready for us yet.” Instead, Mattel and Palms Casino Resort are launching the UNO Social Club, a vibrant, non-gambling space for adults to play the classic card game, kicking off July 18 at Palms in Las Vegas.

What’s the UNO Social Club?

The UNO Social Club at Palms is a private, upscale lounge designed to reimagine game night for adults. Think custom UNO tables, private dealers, and themed decor, plus a private bowling alley, all decked out in UNO’s colorful vibe.

Ray Adler, Mattel’s VP and Global Head of Games, said, “We created UNO Social Clubs to reimagine what game night can be-bringing people together for real-world fun, connection, and a bit of friendly competition.”

The club features UNO variants like UNO Golf, UNO Teams, and UNO Show ’em No Mercy, fostering lively, social play without any wagering.

Initially, access is exclusive to a TikTok contest winner and their guest, plus select influencers, for a July 18-20 debut.

No Betting, No Problem

Unlike casino staples, UNO won’t involve gambling at Palms. Nevada’s strict gaming laws require new games to undergo rigorous approval by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, including a $3,000 fee and a 45-to-180-day trial. UNO hasn’t pursued this, as betting would violate Palms’ gaming license.

Mattel’s focus is on fun, not stakes. “You will not be able to bet on a Draw 4 Wild card… for now,” DraftKings quipped in its retraction.

The club’s goal is to spark connection and nostalgia, not high-stakes action, aligning with Mattel’s vision of “inspiring players to show up, play hard, and make unforgettable memories.”

The Palms UNO Social Club is a promotional move, but it’s just the start. Mattel plans pop-up UNO Social Clubs in bars and venues across major U.S. cities like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Austin in August 2025.

These will feature UNO-themed drink menus, photo stations, and tournaments, doubling down on social vibes. Influencer Kuyate Josh, who previewed the Vegas space, joked on Instagram, “A good thing there was no betting bc I would’ve lost a lot of money.”
