Underdog Fantasy Invests in Game Safety Institute to Enhance Responsible Gaming

Underdog Fantasy has announced its latest investment from the GuardDog fund, supporting the Game Safety Institute (GSI) in its mission to advance responsible gaming through innovation and research.

Focus on Enhancing Product Safety

The Game Safety Institute is focused on improving product safety within the gaming industry by developing platforms that assess the risks associated with various game types.

GSI’s work aims to provide gaming operators with better tools to educate players and implement safety features that help manage their gaming habits.

Adam Warrington, Vice President of Responsible Gaming at Underdog, emphasized the importance of innovation in responsible gaming, stating, “Our clear aim with GuardDog is to support and help scale innovation in responsible gaming, and the Game Safety Institute is precisely the type of partner we look for – imaginative, with a commitment to rigorous testing and research to develop real, actionable solutions to enhance player safety across a wide range of products.”

Support and Mentorship for Emerging Solutions

In addition to financial backing, the GuardDog fund offers its partners access to a wide range of industry expertise. This includes guidance from prominent figures in responsible gaming, such as Brianne Doura-Schawohl and former gaming regulators Dan Hartman and Sara Tait.

Sarah Ramanauskas, co-founder of GSI, also highlighted the increasing focus on product safety within the industry: “The majority of investment and innovation in RG over the past 15 years has been centered on solutions focused on the player. As these initiatives start to mature, we anticipate increased regulatory and industry focus on product safety.”
