Super Bowl LIX Delivers Record-Breaking Action for BetMGM and Caesars
Super Bowl LIX was a historic moment for sportsbooks. Both BetMGM Sportsbook and Caesars Sportsbook reported that the Eagles’ 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs became the most-bet single sporting event in each company’s history.

Surge in Game Parlays Over Traditional Bets
One of the biggest trends from this year’s Super Bowl was the shift in betting behavior. Caesars revealed that, for the first time ever, more game parlays were placed than traditional straight bets. Betting Trends Favor Eagles and the Over
BetMGM saw the majority of its action on Philadelphia. 60% of tickets and 56% of total money were placed on the Eagles to win at +100 on the money line, while 54% of bets and 64% of the handle were on Philadelphia to cover as a +1.5-point underdog.
Bettors also leaned heavily toward a high-scoring game, with 61% of tickets and 57% of total money backing the Over 48.5 points, which ultimately cashed in.
Jalen Hurts proved to be one of the most popular bets of the night. He had the most money wagered on him at +375 to win Super Bowl MVP and was second in total tickets. Hurts delivered with 221 passing yards, two touchdowns through the air, and another on the ground, making those bets a big win for Eagles fans and sharp bettors.
Key Player Props Benefit Sportsbooks
While many bettors profited from the Eagles’ win and Hurts’ MVP performance, sportsbooks still saw strong results thanks to underwhelming performances from key players. BetMGM highlighted that Saquon Barkley and Travis Kelce’s struggles helped boost their bottom line.
- Barkley’s rushing total was set at 110.5 yards, but he finished with just 57 yards, falling well short of expectations.
- Kelce’s receiving total was set at 61.5 yards, but he managed just 39 yards on four receptions.
This was the second consecutive quiet playoff game for Kelce, who had only 19 yards against Buffalo in the AFC Championship Game.
Caesars Sees Unprecedented In-Game Betting Surge
As the Chiefs struggled early, Caesars noted a huge spike in live betting activity. With Kansas City falling behind 24-0 at halftime, bettors rushed to place in-game wagers on a Chiefs comeback at long odds.
Caesars saw an increase in bets on the money line and alternate spreads up to +28.5, making it their largest in-play handle for a Super Bowl ever.
