Scientific Games Signs New 6-Year Deal with North Dakota Lottery

03.12.2024

Scientific Games has secured a six-year contract with the North Dakota Lottery, including an extension option. The agreement focuses on implementing an advanced omnichannel system that integrates retail and digital sales (iLottery).

New Agreement Between Scientific Games and North Dakota Lottery

At the core of Scientific Games’ technological solution for the North Dakota Lottery lies a new advanced gaming system built on the key components of the company’s Momentum ecosystem.

The integrated ecosystem features the AEGIS central gaming system, a digital platform providing a unified solution for iLottery and loyalty programs.

The agreement also includes innovative retail technology, such as award-winning self-service terminals.

Lance Gaebe, Director of the North Dakota Lottery, said, “Our goal was to modernize our technology so that our players can enjoy fluid experiences between retail and digital. We also wanted to work with the tech partner that gave us the best technical solution for the North Dakota Lottery to responsibly grow sales and contributions to our state programs in the coming years.”

Scientific Games’ SG PAM player account management system, combined with a high-performance customer relationship management solution, advanced bonus engine, and achievement-based rewards program, aims to enhance player engagement in North Dakota through an entirely new online and mobile user experience.

A History of Successful Collaboration

This marks the third contract where North Dakota has selected Scientific Games as its systems provider. Over the last decade, lottery sales have grown by 33%, with iLottery sales increasing by 36% between fiscal years 2022 and 2023.

Scientific Games initiated its 20-year technology partnership with North Dakota Lottery in 2004, coinciding with the first sale of Powerball tickets. The company introduced the iLottery program in 2014 and launched a mobile app in 2018.

Currently, Scientific Games provides the lottery with the Pick & Click online/mobile ticket purchasing program, along with the Players Club, where members earn points and redeem rewards through the Points for Prizes online store and the Points for Drawings program.

John Schulz, President, Americas & Global Instant Products, said, “We’ve been there since the beginning with the North Dakota Lottery, and our technology has served the Lottery very well over the past two decades. Our teams have worked hard to build a strong partnership through service excellence, and they deeply understand the North Dakota Lottery’s unique business. Now, we’re taking that partnership to the next level with our Momentum ecosystem.”
