Rush Street Interactive (RSI) has appointed Shubham Tyagi, a former top technology executive at Warner Bros. Discovery, as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Tyagi will report directly to RSI’s CEO, Richard Schwartz, and will be tasked with guiding the company’s technology strategy as it continues to innovate and expand in the competitive U.S. and Latin American markets.

A Veteran of Media and Entertainment Tech

Tyagi brings a deep and diverse background in technology leadership to his new role. In his most recent position as Chief Technology Officer for Sports at Warner Bros. Discovery, he was responsible for transforming the company’s global sports digital portfolio. This included overseeing the technology for major brands and platforms such as Bleacher Report, NBA Digital, and NCAA March Madness Live.

During his time at WBD, he led global engineering and operations teams across more than 20 platforms and played a central role in the Emmy-winning delivery of the NBA season during the COVID-19 lockdown. Earlier in his career, he held senior engineering roles at Macy’s and Turner Broadcasting, where he led major cloud adoption and platform transformation projects.

A Strategic Hire for RSI

The appointment of a CTO with such a strong background in media and direct-to-consumer experiences is a clear strategic move for RSI. The company was looking for a leader with not just technical expertise but also a global perspective and a track record of scaling platforms that serve millions of customers.

“As RSI continues to innovate and strengthen our technology capabilities, we sought a leader with exceptional technical depth, global experience, and a people-first leadership style,” said CEO Richard Schwartz. “Shubham stood out not only for his experience and expertise, but also for his ability to build trust, drive alignment, and scale platforms that serve millions of customers around the world.”

For his part, Tyagi expressed excitement about joining RSI at a pivotal moment in its growth.

“The company’s commitment to innovation, integrity, and creating best-in-class player-first experiences deeply resonates with my own leadership philosophy,” said Tyagi. “I look forward to collaborating with the exceptional RSI team to develop advanced and flexible technical solutions that deliver innovative player experiences and transform the future of Online Gaming.”
