Expansion Targets Sports and Political Events
The expansion is already underway, with Robinhood recently adding election-related contracts. As the NBA season begins and the World Series approaches, the firm is rapidly building out its menu of sports derivatives.

Political and Election Contracts
Robinhood continues to add contracts tied to political outcomes. Recently introduced contracts focus on US policy and local elections:
- Policy Issues: Recent “yes/no” contracts address potential actions by President Trump, such as amnesties, government spending cuts, and tariffs on pharmaceuticals and semiconductors. Other topics include the possibility of a National Bitcoin Reserve, AI regulation, US debt levels, and whether Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will leave his post.
- Local Elections: New contracts focus on mayoral races in cities like New York, Seattle, Miami, and Minneapolis. Trading is also available on gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia, including questions on a potential “Democratic sweep” across those three areas.
