Rhode Island Sports Betting Revenue Declines in April
In April, Rhode Island saw total player spending on sports betting reach $37.7 million. This is slightly higher than the $35.5 million recorded in April last year but represents a 16.0% decrease from the $44.9 million spent in March 2023.
Revenue Figures and Breakdown of Spending
Online players wagered $31.4 million, while retail sportsbooks accounted for $6.3 million, split between Twin River ($4.6 million) and Tiverton Casino ($1.7 million).
The state’s sports betting revenue for April totaled $2.7 million, which is a 10.0% decline from $3.0 million in April 2022 and a 12.9% drop from $3.1 million in March 2023.
Online betting contributed just under $2.6 million. Retail sportsbooks generated $171,658 in total revenue. Twin River brought in $76,942, while Tiverton Casino generated $94,716.
Year-to-Date Overview
In April, players won a total of $35.0 million from sports betting, including $28.8 million from online wagers. From January to April, the total player spend in Rhode Island was $388.6 million. This includes:
Online Betting: $309.5 million.
Retail Betting: $79.0 million, with Twin River accounting for $52.0 million and Tiverton Casino for $27.0 million.
Total revenue for the same period was $32.6 million. Online revenue amounted to $26.5 million, while retail revenue reached $6.1 million, with Twin River accounting for $3.9 million and Tiverton Casino for $2.2 million.
