Pro League Network Raises $2.2 Million to Expand Betting on Niche Sports
Pro League Network (PLN), founded in 2022 by Mike Salvaris and Bill Yucatonis, has successfully raised $2.2 million to introduce betting options for niche sports such as slapfighting, CarJitsu, and streetball.
Strategy and Market Position
Specializing in the commercialization and regulation of lesser-known sports for gambling purposes, PLN is carving out a unique position in the competitive betting market.
Operating out of Missouri, PLN targets sports that gain rapid popularity on social media and are straightforward for casual viewers to understand and bet on after minimal exposure.
This approach aims to fill gaps in the sports-wagering calendar during periods with few or no live professional sports events available for betting.
High-profile sportsbooks like DraftKings and Bet365 have already integrated PLN’s sports properties in approved states and markets.
Future Expansion Plans
Over the next year, PLN plans to expand its leading properties, including CarJitsu, SlapFight Championship, and Str33t, a professional 3×3 basketball league developed in collaboration with Garnett’s Big Ticket Sports.
Additionally, the company will continue to support the World Putting League, which has consistently attracted a dedicated wagering fanbase for professional minigolf.
PLN’s ability to attract investors is partly due to its strategy of owning and operating sports properties. Initially, investors were skeptical about the regulatory approval of these niche sports.
However, PLN demonstrated the feasibility of its offerings when SlapFight Championship gained regulatory approval in multiple jurisdictions, validating the potential of niche sports betting.
