PrizePicks Sets Fantasy Sports Milestone with NCPG’s iCAP Accreditation

PrizePicks has clinched an accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling’s (NCPG) Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP). PrizePicks is the first, and so far only, fantasy sports operator to earn the honor.

A Rigorous Badge of Honor

The iCAP seal isn’t handed out lightly. Developed by the NCPG, it’s the gold standard for online gaming responsibility in the U.S., demanding a deep dive into an operator’s practices. PrizePicks faced a thorough, independent review, everything from Know Your Customer (KYC) checks to staff training, work culture, customer service, and compliance got scrutinized.

The result is alignment with the NCPG’s Internet Responsible Gaming (IRG) standards, built from global best practices, proving they’re serious about keeping players protected.

Mike Ybarra, PrizePicks’ CEO, didn’t hold back his pride. “This certification is a powerful recognition of the culture we’ve built at PrizePicks,” he said, “and an incredible honor that underscores our unwavering commitment to putting player safety first.” He added, “I want to extend my sincere thanks to the NCPG for their thorough evaluation, and to our exceptional team for setting the bar as an industry leader in responsible gaming.”

Leading with Responsibility

Jaime D. Costello, NCPG’s Director of Programs, echoed the sentiment. “We are proud to recognize PrizePicks as the first daily fantasy sports operator to receive iCAP accreditation,” she said. “This achievement highlights their unwavering commitment to player protection and promoting positive play, setting a new benchmark for excellence in the industry.” For PrizePicks, it’s more than a plaque—it’s a promise kept to players across their 46-jurisdiction footprint.

The process wasn’t just a box-checking exercise. It vetted PrizePicks’ tools, like deposit limits and self-exclusion options, alongside their training programs and regulatory adherence.

PrizePicks isn’t going it alone. They’ve teamed up with heavyweights in responsible gaming and compliance: Kindbridge Behavioral Health, Socure, EPIC Global Solutions, Xpoint, and IC360. These alliances beef up the platform’s offerings, from mental health support to cutting-edge geolocation tech, ensuring players have robust safeguards at their fingertips. It’s a full-court press to make fantasy sports not just engaging, but secure.
