PrizePicks Secures First-Ever DFS Gaming License in Puerto Rico, Adds Maine
Daily fantasy sports leader PrizePicks has secured gaming licenses in Puerto Rico and Maine, becoming the first DFS operator to be officially licensed in the U.S. territory. The expansion brings the company’s total operational footprint to 47 jurisdictions.

A Regulatory First in Puerto Rico
The new license in Puerto Rico is a mark of great progress for PrizePicks. While many DFS operators function in a legal gray area in various states, PrizePicks proactively sought and obtained a formal gaming license from the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission.
While the company’s “Arena” game is now live for players in Maine, the launch in Puerto Rico is set to follow in the coming months. This strategic entry into the Caribbean market establishes a key foothold for PrizePicks in a new region.
Building on Nationwide Momentum
Company officials expressed confidence that their product will resonate in the new markets. The expansion follows a period of significant growth for the Atlanta-based operator.
“We’re grateful to the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and the Maine Gambling Control Unit for their partnership and support throughout the licensure process,” said Adam Packer, Senior Vice President of Legal & Compliance at PrizePicks. “We’ve seen tremendous engagement with Arena across the country, and we’re confident that momentum will carry into these new jurisdictions.”
As PrizePicks continues its expansion, the company is also emphasizing its commitment to responsible gaming. This focus is a key part of its strategy to build trust with both regulators and consumers in new markets.
In 2025, PrizePicks became the first and only fantasy sports operator to earn iCAP accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) for its responsible gaming practices.
