Pennsylvania’s Gaming Revenue Hits $505.9 Million in September

In September, Pennsylvania’s gaming industry saw a boost, with the state reporting $505.9 million in taxable gaming revenue—a 6.2% increase compared to the same period last year.

iGaming Powers Through with Strong Gains

Online casino gaming continues to be a key player in Pennsylvania’s revenue growth. iGaming saw a 10.8% rise in September, pulling in $176.7 million and pushing year-to-date operator winnings past the $1.5 billion mark.

The total gross revenue from iGaming reached $227.4 million—just shy of the record set in March at $233.1 million.

The state collected $211.2 million in taxes from gaming in September, with $51.1 million coming from internet casino gaming alone. A staggering $6.21 billion was wagered through iGaming platforms, making it the second-highest amount ever recorded in the state.

Sports Betting Sees Major Uptick

Online sportsbooks also had a stellar month, largely due to hefty investments in promotions and bonuses, totaling $43 million.

This led to adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of $53.5 million, marking a 46.1% jump from last year. Despite these gains, traditional casino revenue saw a slight dip, with table games down 2.3% and slot machine revenue dropping by 1.5%.

Hollywood Casino remained the top performer, bringing in $66.9 million in revenue, a modest 3.2% year-over-year increase. Meanwhile, Valley Forge, saw a much bigger surge with revenue growing by 33% to $47.1 million, marking its second-highest revenue month on record.
