PENN’s $206M M Resort Expansion to Open Ahead of Schedule in December
PENN Entertainment has announced that its new hotel tower at the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas will open to the public on Monday, December 1, months ahead of its original construction timeline. The expansion will bring a new culinary draw to the resort, with the company partnering with Chef Emeril Lagasse’s The Emeril Group to open a new restaurant, Meril, at the property.

A Major Expansion for the Henderson Property
The new hotel tower is the centerpiece of the expansion, adding 384 rooms and bringing the resort’s total to 765 rooms and suites. The project is designed to address a “much needed additional room capacity for group business and the overall strong demand of the Henderson locals market,” according to PENN CEO and President Jay Snowden.
In addition to the new rooms, the project includes a new 15,000-square-foot ballroom, which is slated to open even earlier, on October 1, 2025. The overall expansion is expected to create 120 new jobs at the resort.
Adding a Culinary Draw with Emeril’s Meril
The partnership with The Emeril Group will introduce Meril, a popular Contemporary American restaurant concept from New Orleans, to the Las Vegas market. The restaurant, named after Chef Lagasse’s daughter, is known for its “warm, welcoming atmosphere” and a diverse menu that reflects the chef’s signature style.
This marks the second location for the Meril concept and is a strategic move by PENN to add a high-profile, non-gaming amenity to the M Resort.
Part of a Broader National Growth Strategy
The M Resort expansion is a key component of a larger, multi-project growth plan for PENN Entertainment. It will be the second of four major development projects to be completed, following the recent grand opening of the new Hollywood Casino Joliet in Illinois. The company also has new land-based casinos under construction in Aurora, Illinois, and a new hotel tower in Columbus, Ohio.
To finance the M Resort development, PENN anticipates accessing $150 million in funding in the fourth quarter from its real estate partner, Gaming and Leisure Properties, Inc.
The expansion is designed to further solidify M Resort’s position as a premier destination, not just for locals but for national visitors and convention attendees. The company highlighted its successful partnership with the Las Vegas Raiders, for whom the M Resort serves as the Official Team Headquarters Hotel.
“Coupled with our extensive, expanded array of amenities and our highly successful partnership with the Las Vegas Raiders, M Resort is becoming the premier destination for visitors and convention attendees from across the country,” said Todd George, Executive Vice President of Operations for PENN.
