PENN Entertainment Launches Hollywood Casino App in Michigan
PENN Entertainment has officially launched its stand-alone Hollywood Casino app in Michigan, offering players a seamless online gaming experience. Available on Android, iOS, and desktop, the app allows users to log in with their ESPN BET credentials, making it easy to switch between PENN’s online sports betting and casino platforms.
Features of the Hollywood Casino App
The Hollywood Casino app offers a diverse selection of gaming options, including:
- Online Slots: A wide variety of slot games, including digital versions of popular machines from PENN’s retail casinos.
- Table Games and Live Dealer Content: Players can enjoy bespoke live dealer tables and a dedicated “Casino Floor” lobby for easy navigation.
- Exclusive Titles: Games developed by PENN Game Studios, including hits like Legendary Larry™ and Wuji Mines™.
This app reinforces the Hollywood Casino brand in Michigan, where PENN already operates Hollywood Casino at Greektown in Detroit. The online app integrates with the physical casino, featuring live dealer blackjack tables branded with Hollywood Casino at Greektown and digital versions of slot titles available at the property.
Expanding the Hollywood Casino Brand
Michigan is the second state to receive the stand-alone Hollywood Casino app, following its December 2024 debut in Pennsylvania. PENN Entertainment plans to expand the app to additional jurisdictions in 2025, pending regulatory approvals.
Jay Snowden, CEO of PENN Entertainment, has expressed optimism about the app’s future, emphasizing its expansive game library, which will soon feature over 700 titles. He also highlighted the importance of streamlining marketing efforts to effectively guide players to the new platform.
However, PENN’s broader strategy, which includes its partnership with ESPN BET, has faced challenges. Despite offering integrated user accounts across the Hollywood Casino and ESPN BET platforms, ESPN BET has struggled to gain market share in key states like New Jersey, Michigan, and New York.
