NHRA Launches PlayNHRA Initiative for Fantasy Games, Betting, and Fan Engagement
The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) has unveiled an initiative called PlayNHRA, designed to enhance fan engagement through fantasy games, gaming, and betting on NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series events.
Engaging Fans with Legal Betting and Fantasy Games
As part of PlayNHRA, NHRA has formed partnerships with leading sportsbooks and fantasy sports providers. The collaboration enables fans to sign up for free and legally place wagers on national events and various outcomes in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
The first event where odds will be released and wagers accepted is the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, scheduled for June 7-9 at Bristol Dragway.
Brad Gerber, NHRA Vice President and Chief Development Officer said: “PlayNHRA marks a huge and significant step forward for the NHRA and its fans. This initiative will provide a destination for fans to enjoy the safest and most regulated place to bet on NHRA drag racing, participate in fantasy games, and engage with our sport in so many new ways.”
Ensuring Integrity and Safety in Betting
To ensure the integrity of the sport and provide a safe betting environment, NHRA has partnered with IC360, an industry-leading firm specializing in sports betting education and integrity.
IC360 will educate NHRA employees, race teams, and other stakeholders about sports betting while employing data intelligence, fraud prevention, and monitoring of wagering patterns.
Alen Cisija, NHRA Vice President and General Counsel said: “NHRA is committed to maintaining the integrity of our sport. By partnering with IC360, as well as licensed and regulated sportsbooks and fantasy operators, NHRA will help ensure everyone who engages with PlayNHRA will enjoy a safe and well-regulated betting and gaming environment. This was a vital step in the creation and rollout of PlayNHRA.”
