New York Yankees Team Up with MGM Resorts

11.07.2024

The New York Yankees have announced a new partnership with MGM Resorts, one of the most recognizable names in the gaming industry.

Exclusive Fan Experiences

Through this partnership, MGM Resorts will provide its top-tier rewards members with exclusive opportunities, such as the chance to throw the ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium or watch batting practice from the warning track.

MGM Resorts, which operates notable properties such as the Bellagio and MGM Grand, has managed the Empire City Casino and Yonkers Raceway for the past five years. The company is also a leading contender for one of the three downstate casino licenses expected to be awarded by the end of 2025.

Currently, Empire City provides slot-like video gaming terminals and electronic table games under the New York Lottery’s oversight. Securing a full license would enable MGM to offer Las Vegas-style slots, live dealer table games, and sports betting, enhancing its service offerings just seven miles north of Yankee Stadium.

Growing Sports Sponsorships

This partnership expands MGM’s portfolio of Major League Baseball team sponsorships to five, joining existing agreements with the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Washington Nationals.

These partnerships are strategically aligned with MGM’s geographical presence and market goals, including a casino in Detroit, a facility in Springfield, Mass., and the upcoming deployment of the BetMGM online sportsbook in Washington, D.C. Los Angeles serves as a significant feeder market for MGM’s Las Vegas operations.

As part of the agreement, MGM Resorts gains significant branding opportunities during Yankees games. The MGM logo will be displayed prominently on LED signs throughout Yankee Stadium and on rotating boards along the first and third baselines. Additionally, MGM’s roaring lion logo will appear digitally on the back of the pitcher’s mound during live local television broadcasts of select games, ensuring high visibility among fans.
