The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist letters to eight offshore operators illegally targeting state residents with unlicensed casino-style games and sports wagering.

The Operators Named

The enforcement action covers a mix of casino and sports-focused brands, all found to be operating without proper authorization:

  • Bspin Casino
  • Everygame Casino
  • Everygame Sports Casino
  • Kudos Casino
  • PlayCroco Online Casino
  • Slots of Vegas
  • Spin Dimension
  • Super Slots

Each has been ordered to immediately halt any activity directed at Michigan players.

MGCB’s Enforcement Mandate

Under state law, only operators licensed by the MGCB may offer internet gaming or sports betting. The Board found the eight sites in violation of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and sections of the Michigan Penal Code.

“These unlawful operators try to present themselves as legitimate entertainment options, but they offer zero player protections, no accountability, and a real risk to consumers,” said Henry Williams, MGCB Executive Director. “Our message is simple: If you want to offer gambling in Michigan, follow the law or we will stop you. We will continue to work aggressively to keep illegal gambling out of our state.”

Failure to comply could trigger further enforcement measures in coordination with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

Consumer Risks and the “Play It Smart” Campaign

Unlike licensed operators, illegal sites bypass the independent testing and consumer protection standards Michigan requires. Players using these platforms face heightened risks, from unsafe deposits and withdrawals to misuse of personal information.

To counter these dangers, the MGCB runs its Play It Smart, Michigan campaign. The program educates residents on the difference between licensed and unlicensed operators, offering resources such as the “Legal vs. Illegal Gaming” webpage, video explainers, and guidance on spotting fake ads.

“Fake ads can look convincing—sometimes even using familiar logos or names—but they can be nothing more than a gateway to offshore sites that put players at risk,” Williams added. “Through our Play It Smart, Michigan campaign, we’re giving Michiganders the tools they need to tell the difference between safe, legal play and dangerous, illegal operations.”
