Michael Mizrachi Makes Poker History with 2025 WSOP Main Event Win
Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi etched his name in poker lore by winning the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, defeating John Wasnock heads-up to claim the $10 million prize and a diamond-encrusted bracelet. His victory caps a historic year, making him the first player to win both the Main Event and the $50,000 Poker Players Championship (PPC) in the same year.

A Dominant Final Table
Mizrachi entered the final table with a massive chip lead, holding 445.5 million chips, three times the combined stacks of his rivals.
He wasted no time, knocking out Kenny Hallaert and Braxton Dunaway in the first two hands. The final table wrapped up in a record-breaking 80 hands over five hours across two days, the fastest since at least 2015.
Mizrachi’s aggressive play overwhelmed opponents, with Wasnock noting, “That was the fastest three million dollars I’ve ever made,” after losing two players. Mizrachi, reflecting on his win, said, “This is the best day of my life,” calling his favorite hand, 4-4, a sign at age 44: “This was all meant to be.”
Unmatched Legacy and Hall of Fame Honor
Mizrachi’s eighth WSOP bracelet ties him with Benny Glaser for seventh all-time, per some records, and his fourth PPC win earlier in 2025 set a new benchmark, surpassing Brian Rast.
His $10 million haul pushes his career WSOP earnings past $20 million and total tournament winnings to $29 million, ranking him 31st all-time.
During the victory ceremony, Mizrachi was unanimously inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame by 33 living members, a “battlefield promotion” for his unprecedented PPC-Main Event double.
A Hall of Famer declared, “What you’ve done is phenomenal… Winning the Main, winning the Poker Players Championship, and now the Hall of Fame!”
