Louisiana’s sports betting market recorded year-over-year growth in February 2025, with total handle reaching $381.2 million — a 39% increase compared to the same month in 2024. Mobile betting drove most of the activity, while tax contributions and net proceeds also saw substantial rises.

Mobile Betting Dominates February Activity

Of the total $381.2 million handle, $355.7 million came from mobile platforms, marking a 41% year-on-year increase. Retail betting contributed $25.5 million, up 18% from February 2024. Together, these figures reflect a growing preference for digital wagering channels among Louisiana bettors.

Net Proceeds and Tax Contributions Climb

Net proceeds from sports betting rose by 90% year-on-year to $47.6 million. Mobile betting accounted for $45.1 million of this figure, while retail betting added $2.5 million. Parlay bets were the top revenue driver, generating $31.1 million in net proceeds. In contrast, mobile betting on American football resulted in a negative net return of $1.2 million. The state collected $7 million in tax from sports betting in February — an 87% increase from the previous year.

Louisiana’s fantasy sports segment also experienced gains. Revenue rose by 42% to $1 million, and net revenue grew 38% year-on-year, reaching $126,731. The figures suggest a rising interest in alternative forms of sports-related gaming.
