11.02.2025

Light & Wonder has promoted Nathan Drane to Chief Product Officer (CPO), expanding his leadership to oversee game development across the company. Drane previously served as CPO for the Gaming division, and his new role centralizes all game creation under one department.

Strengthening Leadership for Future Growth

Drane joined Light & Wonder in 2021, bringing over 12 years of experience in product-focused roles within the gaming industry. His promotion aligns with the company’s strategy to enhance cross-platform content development and create a more unified game production process.

Light & Wonder’s President and CEO, Matt Wilson, praised Drane’s leadership and vision: “I’ve personally worked with Nathan for many years, and I couldn’t be happier for him to share his leadership and vision with the entire enterprise. He has already been working with many across the business on our cross-platform strategy and has a clear and aggressive content roadmap that will ensure our continued success, positioning us for growth in the near and long term.”

A Centralized Approach to Game Development

In his expanded role, Drane will focus on data-driven game development, talent growth, and operational efficiency across the company’s platforms.

His leadership is expected to strengthen Light & Wonder’s position in land-based casinos, iGaming, and social gaming.

Drane emphasized the significance of this transition: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to take on this role with the Company. This new centralized content organization formalizes our global strategy of building the world’s best games in every market on every intended platform. It provides us an opportunity to make data-driven development and roadmap decisions, gives us new opportunities to grow talent, and drives efficiencies throughout the game-creation process.”

As Drane takes on his new role, former CPO Rich Schneider will transition to Senior Advisor, continuing to support product innovation and strategic growth at Light & Wonder.
