LeoVegas Appoints Former MGA Chief as Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs

LeoVegas AB appointed Carl Brincat, the former Chief Executive of the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), as its new Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs. Brincat will join the company in August, becoming a key member of the regulatory compliance team led by Chief Legal Officer Abby Cosgrave.

Brincat’s Background and Expertise

During his professional career, Carl Brincat gained considerable experience in iGaming policies, licensing, and regulatory safeguards.

As Chief Executive of the MGA from 2021 to 2024, Brincat has played a crucial role in implementing enhanced systems and controls aimed at improving money laundering protections, customer care duties, and the scrutiny of licenses.

Now, in his new role, Brincat will spearhead LeoVegas’ policy efforts and coordinate relationships with industry trade bodies. His work will support the company’s ongoing expansion and ensure adherence to regulatory standards across various jurisdictions.
