Nick Khin

Nick Khin is a highly respected global gaming executive who leads the worldwide gaming operations for International Game Technology (IGT). He currently serves as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the newly combined IGT enterprise and concurrently as CEO of the Gaming division. Khin has spent decades guiding strategy, mergers, and product development across multiple continents for major casino technology suppliers.

Bio

Khin hails from New Zealand, where he grew up in the Waitākere area of West Auckland. He holds a Master’s degree in Commerce with honors from the University of Auckland. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Public Accountants. This financial and international expertise positioned him perfectly for a career that spans from Auckland to the Las Vegas Strip.

Finance Roots and Gaming Transition

Khin’s career is marked by a deliberate shift from the finance sector to his passion for the casino industry, building an international leadership profile along the way.

Early Career and Global Finance

Khin began his professional journey in the early 1990s. He held senior financial roles at major telecommunications firms, including AT&T and NCR Corporation. This period provided him with international experience in corporate finance, working in both Europe and the United States.

Rise at Aristocrat Leisure Limited

Driven by a personal interest in casinos, Khin transitioned into the gaming sector. He joined Aristocrat Leisure Limited, a major Australian gaming machine manufacturer. His tenure spanned over a decade and included key global roles:

  • Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA): He first managed Aristocrat’s EMEA operations from London.
  • Americas Division: Later, he became President and CEO of Aristocrat’s Americas division. This unit represented the company’s largest revenue generator.

This decade at Aristocrat cemented Khin’s deep expertise in the global slot machine market. He also served as a director of the American Gaming Association (AGA) from 2008 to 2012.

Orchestrating IGT’s Corporate Transformation

Khin joined IGT in 2013, quickly becoming the architect of the company’s modern structure through a landmark merger.

Strategic Leader and Merger Architect

Khin’s initial role at IGT was leading the company’s Corporate Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)function. In this capacity, he played a central role in the 2015 merger between Italy-based GTECH S.p.A. and IGT. This strategic deal remains one of the largest M&A transactions in the gaming supplier industry. The merger fundamentally redefined the company’s global reach, creating the modern IGT.

Advancement Through IGT

Following the successful merger, Khin took on increasing operational responsibilities:

  • He served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Gaming, overseeing the land-based product portfolio and leading sales in the Americas.
  • He became President of Global Gaming, managing all aspects of IGT’s worldwide land-based gaming business. This included game design studios, technology development, global sales, and casino management systems.

Current Leadership Role

As of 2024–2025, Khin holds two high-level roles due to IGT’s ongoing restructuring:

  1. Interim Chief Executive Officer: He leads the entire IGT enterprise during a major corporate transformation involving the combination of its Gaming and Digital businesses with Everi Holdings.
  2. CEO of Gaming: He leads the entire land-based Gaming division of the combined IGT-Everi company worldwide.

Achievements and Global Influence

Khin is highly regarded for his global perspective and product leadership, which has directly fueled IGT’s market strength.

  • Product Growth: Under his oversight, IGT consistently releases top games and strengthens its portfolio across every category. His teams develop flagship casino hits like Wheel of Fortune Slots and new platforms like IGT ADVANTAGE X casino management system.
  • Global Authority: He holds a truly international executive perspective, having managed businesses across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia during his tenures at Aristocrat and IGT.
  • Industry Recognition: Khin was named one of Global Gaming Business magazine’s “25 People to Watch” in 2025. This honor reflects his track record of strategic accomplishments and his ongoing influence in shaping the gaming industry.

Despite his prominent base on the Las Vegas Strip, Khin maintains close ties to his New Zealand heritage. He returns to the Waitākere area frequently and encouraged his son to pursue a degree at the University of Auckland, following his own path as an alumnus.
