Kansas Sports Betting Revenue Sees Increase in April
Kansas sports betting market experienced a notable increase in total revenue for April 2024, rising by 13.0% year-on-year to reach $10.4 million. This figure also represents a substantial 46.5% increase from the $7.1 million reported in March 2024.
Betting Handle in Kansas
The majority of Kansas’s sports betting revenue came from online betting, which accounted for $10.3 million of the total. In contrast, retail sports betting contributed a much smaller share of $79,989.
In terms of betting activity, Kansas saw a total handle of $192.1 million in April, which is 44.4% higher than the same month last year. However, this was lower than the $252.9 million handle recorded in March 2024.
Tax Contributions
Online betting dominated the market, with players wagering $185.9 million, while retail sportsbooks handled $6.2 million in bets.
The state collected $1.0 million in taxes from sports betting in April, with almost all of this revenue generated from online betting activities.
