IGT Secures 10-Year Contract Extension with North Carolina Education Lottery
International Game Technology (IGT) continues its long-standing partnership with the North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) by signing a 10-year contract extension to provide cutting-edge lottery solutions and technology.
Extending a Trusted Partnership
IGT Global Solutions Corporation, a subsidiary of International Game Technology, has signed a 10-year contract extension with the North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL).
This new agreement, starting in July 2027 and running through June 2037, strengthens a relationship that began when the NCEL launched in 2006.
Under the terms of the extension, IGT will provide its advanced Aurora™ central system and a host of technology upgrades to enhance the efficiency and reach of the lottery’s operations.
Innovative Technology for Future Growth
As part of the contract, IGT will deploy its integrated lottery solution, OMNIA™, which includes the high-performing Aurora™ platform.
This will be complemented by an upgrade to the Wizard suite of back-office business applications.
The deal also includes the installation of 8,500 Retailer Pro S2 terminals, 500 GameTouch™ 28 self-service vending machines, 2,000 lottery play centers, and 4,000 Jackpot signs.
IGT will also provide a dual cellular communication network and expanded testing capabilities to further support the NCEL’s operations.
Commitment to Supporting Public Education
Mark Michalko, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the NCEL, emphasized the importance of the partnership with IGT in driving both sales growth and contributions to public education.
“IGT has been a trusted partner to the NCEL for more than 18 years, supporting our consistent growth and record-breaking sales,” Michalko stated.
He added that the NCEL now raises over $1 billion annually for the state of North Carolina.
The new technology provided by IGT will help the lottery responsibly increase sales while continuing to support public education.
Technology to Drive Efficiency and Innovation
Jay Gendron, IGT’s Chief Operating Officer of Global Lottery, highlighted the importance of upgrading NCEL’s retail technology, noting,
“IGT’s future-forward technology will provide the systems and equipment needed for the NCEL to work effectively and efficiently for its players, its retail partners, and the good causes it serves.”
Gendron emphasized that IGT’s solutions are designed to help NCEL maintain its position as one of the top 10 lotteries in the U.S.
Streamlined Operations with Aurora
IGT’s Aurora platform is tailored to enhance lottery operations, providing user-friendly applications, tools, and reporting capabilities to boost profitability and innovation.
With components such as Performance Wizard, Sales Wizard, Learning Wizard, and Retailer Wizard, the system will help streamline NCEL’s operations for maximum efficiency.
The Retailer Pro S2 terminals will allow for simultaneous feature upgrades across multiple point-of-sale locations, improving overall functionality.
