Hector Fernandez Appointed as CEO of IGT Gaming and Everi Combined Venture
Hector Fernandez has been named CEO of the newly formed company resulting from the merger of IGT Gaming and Everi. The combined entity will offer diversified solutions to the gaming industry.
Hector Fernandez Named CEO of IGT/Everi
Hector Fernandez, who recently departed Aristocrat Gaming, will join the new IGT/Everi organization in Q4 2025, following the expiration of a standard non-compete agreement. Until then, Nick Khin will serve as interim CEO.
The merged company will operate through three distinct business units: Gaming (led by Nick Khin), Digital (led by Gil Rotem), and FinTech (led by Darren Simmons).
Fernandez, who will oversee these three divisions, is expected to focus on growth, product innovation, and content generation.
The newly appointed CEO brings extensive experience in both the gaming and technology industries, along with strategic and financial expertise. Most recently, he served as CEO of Aristocrat Gaming.
Daniel Cohen, Partner at Apollo, stated, “We’re thrilled to name Hector Fernandez as the future CEO of the combined enterprise. As we look to position IGT Gaming and Everi as a premier, diversified customer-centric platform at the forefront of innovation in the gaming and fintech industries, Hector brings an impressive track record of successfully scaling operations and strengthening customer relationships while being a champion for strong values. Hector shares our vision to lead this talented global workforce and will foster a people-first culture across the combined enterprise.”
A New Chapter in Fernandez’s Career
In his previous role, Fernandez managed Aristocrat Gaming’s global operations across more than 300 regulated jurisdictions. He joined Aristocrat in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its Americas gaming division.
In 2022, he was promoted to CEO of Aristocrat Gaming, marking a pivotal point in his career. After six years with the company, his departure signaled a significant leadership change, with Craig Toner, the former CFO and EVP of Operations, stepping in as his successor.
As Fernandez embarks on this new challenge, he shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity. “I couldn’t be more excited to be part of this journey with IGT Gaming and Everi. I look forward to partnering with the very talented teams at both companies, as well as the Apollo team leading the transaction,” powiedział Fernandez.
