FanDuel Launches ‘FanDuel Picks,’ a New Peer-to-Peer Fantasy Sports Game
FanDuel is rolling out a new peer-to-peer daily fantasy sports game called “FanDuel Picks.” The new product, launched just in time for the NFL season, offers a simplified gameplay experience where users compete against each other for a share of a prize pool.

A Simplified “More or Less” Format
FanDuel Picks is built around a streamlined “more or less” selection model. The gameplay is straightforward:
- Users build a lineup of three to six athletes.
- For each athlete, they predict whether the player will achieve “more” or “less” than a projected stat line (e.g., passing yards for a quarterback).
- Users set their contest entry amount.
Players earn points for each correct prediction, and those with the highest scores at the end of the contest win a share of the prize pool. The potential payout can be up to 1,000 times a user’s entry fee.
“The ‘more’ or ‘less’ selection model offers a streamlined fantasy sports experience,” said Rob Cullen, General Manager of FanDuel Picks. “We look forward to offering our customers another way to interact with games this season.”
A Peer-to-Peer Model in a Shifting Landscape
A key feature of FanDuel Picks is its peer-to-peer (P2P) structure. Unlike some pick’em style games that have faced regulatory scrutiny for pitting players “against the house,” FanDuel’s new product places users in direct competition with one another.
This P2P model is generally considered more legally defensible under daily fantasy sports laws and has become the preferred structure for operators in the pick’em space. The launch of FanDuel Picks in this format is a clear acknowledgment of the evolving regulatory landscape.
Market Availability and Launch Promotion
FanDuel Picks is launching in 17 states where this style of fantasy sports is permitted. These states include Alabama, Georgia, Minnesota, Texas, and Wisconsin, among others.
To drive initial adoption, FanDuel is offering a promotion for new users. Customers who play $5 on FanDuel Picks for the first time will receive $60 in bonus funds.
