FanDuel Dominates Virginia’s Sports Betting Market in April

In April, FanDuel solidified its position as the leading mobile sports betting operator in Virginia, surpassing $700 million in all-time revenue.

Impressive Market Performance

Virginia’s gross sports betting revenue for April reached $60 million, marking the fourth instance in 40 months of recorded wagering to achieve this figure.

FanDuel was responsible for $31.2 million of this total, accounting for more than half of the state’s revenue. This reflects FanDuel’s commanding market presence and is the fourth time in the past seven months that the company’s monthly revenue has exceeded $30 million.

The state’s 16 licensed sports betting operators collectively generated $60.4 million in winnings, with a 10.8% hold. Despite FanDuel’s leading position, the broader Virginia sports wagering market remains healthy, with most sportsbooks showing stable growth.

Expansion Beyond Virginia

FanDuel’s success isn’t limited to Virginia. In New York, the operator reported a gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $88 million in May, with a betting handle of $747.5 million.

FanDuel controls almost half of the New York betting market, showcasing the effectiveness of its strategy across different jurisdictions.
