DraftKings Names Christian Bogstrand as New iGaming General Manager
DraftKings has appointed Christian H. A. Bogstrand as its new Executive Vice President and General Manager of iGaming. The hire brings more than two decades of gaming sector experience to the firm’s online casino division. Bogstrand previously served as a senior executive at bet365, joining DraftKings to oversee its online casino operations across all regulated markets.

Experienced Leadership for iGaming Growth
Bogstrand spent over six years at bet365, where he was CEO and Head of Gaming for Hillside Limited in Gibraltar. During his tenure, he drove product development and operational efficiency, including the launch of bet365’s first native mobile casino application.
Before joining DraftKings, he also held a top position at Lucky7 Ventures, part of Superbet Group, focusing on European gaming strategy and player retention.
In his new role, Bogstrand will manage DraftKings’ online casino business, focusing on player engagement, growth strategies, and product optimization. His responsibilities include leading innovation and improving performance in the company’s gaming segment. He will also work on expanding into new markets and boosting the company’s current market share.
Bogstrand called joining DraftKings “a thrilling new chapter.” He noted the firm’s culture, motivated leaders, and strong in-house technology foundation as key factors in his decision. He sees the opportunity to contribute to a business that is “scaling with purpose.”
Strategic Context and Market Expansion
This appointment is a direct move to strengthen DraftKings’ online casino business amid rising competition in the regulated US iGaming market. It comes as DraftKings expands its product offerings and reinforces its leadership team.
The company is actively working to integrate advanced analytics and user-focused design to improve player retention and overall market presence.
The new hire was finalized just before DraftKings announced its plan to acquire Railbird Technologies. That acquisition is set to enable the launch of the DraftKings Predictions app, which will let users trade event contracts covering finance, culture, and entertainment.
Bogstrand’s expertise is expected to be central to driving efficiency and innovation in the firm’s core iGaming product portfolio.
