DraftKings Boosts Responsible Gaming with $10M Campaign and $500K in Grants
DraftKings is doubling down on responsible gaming this March. For Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM), the company unveiled a trio of efforts. It’s renewing its State Council Funding Program, marking a year of My Stat Sheet, and launching a $10 million national ad campaign. These steps highlight DraftKings’ focus on player safety.
Funding Support Nationwide
The State Council Funding Program is back. Since 2022, it’s delivered over $2 million to problem gambling councils. This year, DraftKings will distribute $500,000 across 34 U.S. states. Even states without DraftKings operations benefit.
For instance, California’s council upgraded its helpline with AI tools. Louisiana’s CORE center improved free treatment services. Maryland rolled out 10 infographics, while North Carolina revamped its website.
“With the renewal of our State Council Funding Program, we’re continuing to support organizations that expand access to resources and education for players, their families, and communities,” said Lori Kalani, Chief Responsible Gaming Officer.
My Stat Sheet turned one in 2024. This first-of-its-kind tool tracks player habits with charts. Nearly half of DraftKings’ users have checked it, logging 13 million visits. It shows time spent, wagers, and wins or losses. Recently, it got a facelift.
Now, it breaks data by product, Sportsbook, Casino, Fantasy, and details deposits. “Through initiatives like My Stat Sheet, which provides players with their personalized play data, and our new national awareness campaign, we’re reinforcing the importance of responsible play,” Kalani noted. Players can reflect on their stats anytime.
Ads Reach Millions
A national ad campaign kicks off this month. Backed by $10 million, it targets NCAA basketball tournament viewers. The NFL and NBA helped shape its message.
It urges setting limits and smart choices. The ad frames betting as adult entertainment. Consequently, it aims to reach millions across the U.S.
DraftKings offers more than buzz. Its RG Center includes deposit limits and self-exclusion options. Alerts and cooling-off periods are standard too. Plus, My Stat Sheet ties into these resources. Together, they build a safer betting space. As Kalani put it, “Responsible Gaming is fundamental to our mission.”
