Delaware Sports Betting Sees Year-on-Year Growth, iGaming Also on the Rise
Delaware’s sports betting market experienced mixed results in August. The state’s sportsbooks generated $702,075 in revenue, a 125.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Sports Betting Revenue and Handle in August
This figure however was 34.7% lower than the $1 million recorded in July, reflecting a month-to-month decline.
Total sports betting handle for August amounted to $10.3 million, representing a 329.2% increase from the previous year, largely due to the Delaware Lottery’s rollout of a new online sportsbook in January.
The market hold for the month stood at 6.8%, reflecting the proportion of total bets retained as revenue.
iGaming Sees Strong Growth
In addition to sports betting, Delaware’s iGaming sector posted impressive results for August. Total revenue for the month reached $5.6 million, a 427.3% increase compared to last year and an 11.5% rise from July.
Players wagered a total of $164.3 million on iGaming platforms during the month.
Online games were the primary revenue driver, generating $3.7 million from $89.7 million in wagers. Internet table games followed closely, contributing $2 million in revenue from $74.6 million in bets.
