The celebrated and often controversial sports broadcaster Craig Carton is launching a new daily talk show, “The Craig Carton Show,” which will premiere on the SportsGrid FAST Channel on September 4. The new show will air live on weekdays from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon ET, originating from SportsGrid’s Studio 34 in New York City.

A New Platform for a Signature Voice

“The Craig Carton Show” is set to feature the host’s signature high-energy style and unfiltered perspective on the day’s biggest sports stories, debates, and personalities. The move to a digital-first platform represents a new chapter for the veteran broadcaster.

“I couldn’t be more excited to launch The Craig Carton Show on SportsGrid,” Carton said in a statement. “Studio 34 is an incredible stage in the middle of New York City, and I can’t wait to deliver a new program format that’s smart, authentic, and most importantly, fun for sports fans everywhere.”

A Strategic Move for SportsGrid

For SportsGrid, the addition of a high-profile personality like Carton is a major content play designed to bolster its lineup and attract a larger audience to its FAST channel. The network, which is widely distributed on platforms like Roku, Samsung TV Plus, and Amazon Freevee, sees Carton as a perfect fit for its mission.

“SportsGrid is about delivering compelling, original live sports programming to fans wherever they watch, and bringing Craig Carton into our lineup is a perfect example of that mission,” said Louis Maione, SportsGrid’s Founder and President. “His voice, personality, and deep connection with sports audiences make him a tremendous fit for the SportsGrid FAST Channel.”

A Modern Format for a Modern Audience

The partnership is also a strategic one for Carton’s production partners, who see the FAST channel model as an ideal way to showcase his talent in a modern format.

“We’ve long admired Craig’s ability to connect with fans through his passion and unique style,” said Eric Pearce, an EVP at Red Seat Ventures. “Partnering with SportsGrid to bring this program to life is a great opportunity to showcase Craig’s talent in a modern, dynamic format that reaches millions of fans across connected TV platforms every day.”

The new show represents a convergence of established media talent with the new distribution models of the streaming era, a trend that is reshaping the sports media landscape.
