Caesars Entertainment has published its 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report. The document outlines the company’s achievements and ongoing initiatives in environmental sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), community investment, and employee development.

Environmental Impact

Heather Rapp, SVP of Corporate Social Responsibility for Caesars Entertainment, emphasized the company’s dedication to advancing its CSR objectives. “At Caesars Entertainment, we’re committed to continuing to develop, diversify and achieve our CSR goals. We’ve been in a period of progress as we met and exceeded our interim emission reduction goals three years ahead of schedule, and because of that work, we were able to implement new, more ambitious goals this year. Our success in our environmental impact category motivates us to keep growing and achieving in our CSR efforts across the board. We look forward to continuing to grow and make a difference in the communities where we live, work and play,” she said.

Key initiatives in 2023 included enhancements to the environmental performance of CAESARS FORUM, the company’s 600,000-square-foot convention center in Las Vegas. These initiatives featured a green cleaning program, monitoring-based commissioning to optimize mechanical systems, and a composting program, leading to a Gold-level LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Caesars hosted its inaugural enterprise-wide Business Impact Group (BIG) summit in 2023, bringing leaders together for a two-day workshop in Las Vegas. This summit allowed participants to assess the roles of their respective BIGs within the company, exchange best practices, and develop future strategies. It also served as a professional development opportunity for the attendees.

The “Caesars Makes Change” program, initially piloted in 2021, expanded to nearly 40 Caesars Entertainment destinations in 2023. This initiative allows guests to donate a portion of their slot machine cash-out tickets to charitable organizations. Over the past year, the program has contributed more than $1.25 million to Meals on Wheels America and Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

To foster self-development and professional growth among its salaried employees, Caesars introduced a quarterly publication titled “Leading the Empire” in 2023. This leadership development tool offers insights into the company’s leadership framework and provides links to further learning resources. By the end of the year, company leaders had completed over 3,100 learning programs through this initiative, dedicating more than 2,300 hours to their personal development.
