Caesars Entertainment dropped its 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility report, laying out a year of big moves under its PEOPLE PLANET PLAY framework.

A Year of Impact

From boosting community programs to cutting emissions and celebrating 35 years of responsible gaming, the report shows how the nation’s largest casino company is balancing growth with doing good. “2024 was an incredible year for us,” said Kiersten Flint, SVP of Corporate Social Responsibility and Internal Communications. “We’re proud of the work we did and are carrying that momentum forward.”

The report dives into three core areas: people, planet, and play, detailing how Caesars invested in its employees, communities, and the environment while keeping gaming fun and safe. It’s a snapshot of a company trying to make a difference beyond the casino floor.

Lifting Up Communities

On the “people” front, Caesars poured serious cash and time into its communities. The Caesars Foundation gave over $3.4 million to nonprofits and disaster relief efforts, part of a whopping $72 million in total community investment.

That figure includes the value of 93,000 volunteer hours logged by employees through the HERO program. To spotlight standout givers, Caesars launched the Extraordinary HERO Award Program in 2024, honoring team members who go all out for their communities through volunteering and fundraising.

The effort paid off. Caesars was named one of The Civic 50’s most community-minded companies by the Points of Light Foundation, a nod to its deep ties to the places it operates. From local charities to disaster aid, Caesars’ footprint is felt far beyond its resorts.

Greening the Game

For “planet,” Caesars made solid progress on its environmental goals. The company slashed Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 20% from 2019 levels and cut Scope 3 emissions by 16% from 2022. To keep the momentum going, Caesars joined two U.S. Department of Energy programs in 2024: the Better Climate Challenge and the Better Buildings Challenge. These initiatives provide tools and peer learning to boost building efficiency and further shrink greenhouse gas emissions.

These steps align with Caesars’ broader climate commitments, showing it’s serious about reducing its environmental impact even as it expands its properties. The report, written with GRI Standards and including SASB and TCFD indices, lays it all out for anyone curious about the numbers.

Playing Responsibly, Expanding Boldly

Under “play,” Caesars celebrated a milestone: 35 years of its Responsible Gaming program, kicked off with Project 21 in 1989. As the first casino company to tackle problem gambling, Caesars marked the anniversary during Responsible Gaming Education Month in September 2024, reinforcing its commitment to keeping betting safe. It’s a legacy that sets the company apart in an industry often under scrutiny.

Meanwhile, Caesars wrapped up a multi-year investment cycle, opening three new spots: Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing and Casino in Nebraska, Caesars Virginia in Danville, and Caesars New Orleans in Louisiana.

They also expanded Harrah’s Hoosier Park and added the Versailles Tower at Paris Las Vegas, leveling up the guest experience.
