BMM Testlabs Supports STEM Education with Paid Internships for Tribal Students
BMM Testlabs has announced its continued support for STEM education among Tribal students through a paid summer internship program.
This initiative is part of BMM’s Next Generation Initiative and is conducted in partnership with the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES). The program offers indigenous students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an independent gaming laboratory, working alongside BMM’s expert test engineers.
Partnership with AISES
The collaboration between BMM and AISES aims to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education for indigenous students.
By providing these students with real-world experience, the program seeks to inspire and equip them with the skills necessary for future careers in STEM fields.
Leadership Perspective
Travis Foley, BMM’s Chief Government and Regulatory Officer, emphasized the value of the internship program: “We have supported AISES through a summer internship program now for several years, and we have found it to be a great experience for BMM and for the students. We’re focused on investing in Tribal gaming’s future, and our AISES interns are an important part of that commitment. We hope the real-world experience they get and the new skills they learn at BMM pave the way for potential career opportunities and instills a greater appreciation for STEM professions.”
Daniel Gallardo, the 2024 summer intern and a descendant of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, shared his enthusiasm for the program. Gallardo, who is pursuing an undergraduate degree at Crown College in Minnesota, expressed his alignment with BMM’s mission: “I am drawn to BMM’s mission and manner of testing, which ensures the integrity and fairness of the game. BMM’s testing process and the use of the BOAT online approval system resonate with my long-term career aspirations of working for my tribe in the gaming industry. I am enthusiastic about contributing to BMM and am eager for the experience to learn more from the team and expand my skills.”
Program Details
The BMM Testlabs AISES paid summer internship will last for 10 weeks, starting on June 3.
The program is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to BMM’s testing methodologies and processes, offering interns a valuable opportunity to develop practical skills and gain insights into the gaming industry.
