BetMGM Poker Boosts Pool with Pennsylvania, Eyes $1M Tournaments
BetMGM Poker is leveling up its game, announcing that Pennsylvania joins its shared player pool with New Jersey and Michigan, effective April 28 at 9 a.m.

A Bigger Poker Table
This merger, the largest in BetMGM Poker’s history, lets players from these states compete for record-breaking prize pools. With Pennsylvania’s $2.18 billion 2024 betting handle, the move strengthens BetMGM’s grip on the U.S. iGaming market.
“Pennsylvania represents the largest state to join the shared player pool and turbocharges our poker platform,” said Angus Nisbet, BetMGM Vice President of Gaming.
“This expanded player pool will allow us to deliver more games and bigger tournaments to our players.”
The integration, boosting BetMGM’s 40% share of the $1 billion U.S. online poker market, could add 20,000 active players.
Tournaments and Promotions
To celebrate, BetMGM Poker is rolling out big events. On April 29 at 7:05 p.m. EST, a $0 buy-in C-Note tournament offers a $35,000 guarantee, with cash payouts and a $5,000 BetMGM Poker Championship package for the winner.
The May Millions series, running May 8–11, features 18 events with a $1 million guarantee, including a $2,500 Super High Roller and a $1,000 Championship with a $400,000 guarantee.
Players can spin a daily wheel for tournament tickets up to $500.
The BetMGM Poker Championship at ARIA in Las Vegas, set for June 30–July 4, offers over 100 qualifier packages via weekly Thursday and Sunday tournaments until June 22.
Each package includes a $3,500 entry, a five-night ARIA stay, travel credit, and a swag bag. With 60% of U.S. poker players chasing live events, per pokernews.com, this could drive $10 million in online qualifiers..
“It’s been amazing being part of the tremendous growth of BetMGM Poker throughout the years,” said Darren Elias, BetMGM Poker Ambassador and four-time World Poker Tour winner.
“Adding a large market like Pennsylvania is a huge milestone in continued expansion and provides the opportunity to compete against more players and for larger prize pools.”
