BetMGM has partnered with Century Casinos’ Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau to launch online sports betting in Missouri by December 1, 2025.

A Powerhouse Partnership

BetMGM teamed up with Century Casinos’ subsidiary, Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau, to launch its online and mobile sports betting app.

Set to kick off by December 1, pending regulatory approval, this deal hands BetMGM a golden ticket to Missouri’s budding betting market via Century’s license.

“We are excited to partner with BetMGM, a leading online sports betting and gaming entertainment company,” said Century Casinos co-CEOs Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, touting the deal’s potential to deliver “premium entertainment experiences.”

For BetMGM, this partnership is all about cracking open Missouri’s high-potential market. The state, bordered by betting-legal neighbors like Illinois and Kansas, has seen cash leak across state lines.

By launching its app, BetMGM aims to keep those dollars in-state, boosting its U.S. footprint, which spans 28 jurisdictions. “Missouri is a key piece in our growth puzzle,” a BetMGM spokesperson hinted, aligning with the company’s push to outpace rivals.

The deal narrows the regional gap, positioning BetMGM to juice up its market share in a state where sports fandom, from Cardinals baseball to Chiefs football, runs deep.

Century Casinos’ Smart Play

Century Casinos is cashing in without breaking a sweat. The partnership lets them monetize their Missouri license by leasing it to BetMGM, dodging the hefty costs of running their own betting operation.

BetMGM will pay a percentage of net gaming revenue, with a guaranteed minimum to ensure steady cash flow for Century. The deal also opens the door for a brick-and-mortar sportsbook at Cape Girardeau, though Century holds the cards on that call

The agreement hinges on regulatory green lights, with Missouri’s sports betting launch slated for December 1. BetMGM’s app will offer standard bets, moneylines, spreads, props, tailored to Missouri’s sports scene.

The revenue-sharing model ensures Century gets a cut of the action, with minimum payments as a safety net. An optional retail sportsbook at Century’s Cape Girardeau venue could add flair, but it’s a future bet, dependent on market trends.
