Bet365 Secures Tennessee Sports Betting License

25.02.2025

Bet365 has officially received approval to operate in Tennessee. The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council granted the license on February 11, allowing the global sportsbook giant to join an already competitive market.

A Fully Online Betting Market

Like all sportsbooks in Tennessee, Bet365 will operate exclusively online and via mobile platforms. The state has maintained a mobile-only sports betting model since launching legal wagering on November 1, 2020.

Unlike other states that require partnerships with retail casinos, Tennessee allows sportsbooks to enter the market without a physical presence.

With this latest approval, Bet365 continues its expansion across the American sports betting landscape. The company now holds licenses in 11 states, including Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

In December 2024, Bet365 received authorization to launch in Illinois, with operations expected to begin later this year.

Tennessee’s Booming Sports Betting Industry

Tennessee ended 2024 on a strong note, with $572.7 million in total wagers placed in December, a 15.8% increase compared to the previous year.

With 12 licensed operators, including FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars, BetMGM, Fanatics, ESPN Bet, Hard Rock Bet, and Bally Bet, Tennessee’s mobile-only betting model continues to thrive.

The market also saw regulatory action in late 2024, as offshore sportsbook Bovada exited the state after receiving a cease-and-desist order and a $50,000 fine from the Sports Wagering Council.
