The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has issued cease-and-desist orders to four gambling operators accused of targeting state residents without proper authorization.

Unauthorized Wagering Targeted

According to the ADG, the operators in question were offering event wagering and sweepstakes-style gambling without holding state licenses. All four companies have been ordered to immediately halt operations.

Regulators argue that such activity circumvents consumer protections and exposes players to potential financial harm, while also creating an uneven playing field for licensed operators who comply with state laws, pay taxes, and fund responsible gaming initiatives.

In its official statement, the ADG stressed the wider dangers of unlicensed activity:

“Unlicensed operators operating outside the law and without regulatory safeguards pose serious risks to consumer protection and financial security across the state, undermining the integrity of Arizona’s regulated gaming industry. This latest action underscores the Department’s commitment to protecting the public and upholding Arizona’s gaming laws. ADG continues to actively monitor, investigate, and take enforcement action against entities attempting to exploit Arizona residents through unauthorized gambling activities, including possible enforcement actions in partnership with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.”

Part of a Broader Enforcement Push

The latest cease-and-desist orders follow similar actions taken in June against other unlicensed platforms. More recently, the ADG rolled out a statewide consumer protection campaign designed to educate residents about the risks of unregulated gambling and to encourage the use of licensed operators.
