Arizona Awards Event Wagering Licenses to Sporttrade and Plannatech
On August 2, the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADoG) awarded two new tribal-tethered event wagering licenses, expanding the state’s digital betting offerings.
Strategic Partnerships with Tribes
Sporttrade and UK-based Plannatech have received approval to operate in Arizona, further enhancing the state’s betting landscape.
Both companies will collaborate with local tribes to deliver their digital betting services:
Sporttrade will partner with the Quechan Indian Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation. The tribe previously collaborated with Unibet, which exited the Arizona market earlier this year.
Plannatech will join forces with the San Carlos Apache Tribal Gaming Enterprise. This partnership follows the departure of WynnBet, which is gradually withdrawing its platform across the country.
Market Approach
Sporttrade, currently live in New Jersey, Colorado, and Iowa, offers an exchange wagering platform that mimics stock market trading. The model has faced regulatory challenges, limiting its expansion. However, in Colorado and Iowa, Sporttrade operates as a traditional sportsbook, adhering to more conventional betting regulations.
Plannatech, a UK-based company, is entering the U.S. market through its partnership with the San Carlos Apache Tribe. The approval from ADoG marks a landmark step for Plannatech as it seeks to establish its presence in the competitive American sports betting industry.
