Who’s Winning the Operator Game?

DraftKings ran the show, no contest. Teamed up with Boot Hill Casino, it handled $92.4 million in bets, $92.2 million online, and banked $7.1 million in revenue, owning the top spot.

FanDuel, paired with Kansas Star Casino, came in second with a $68.7 million handle: $67.9 million online and $3.3 million in revenue, holding its ground. Together, these two giants scooped up over three-quarters of the market.

BetMGM and Fanatics, both linked to Kansas Crossing, duked it out for third. BetMGM took $13.9 million in bets and earned $1.1 million, while Fanatics, fresh off a March launch and PointsBet rebrand on April 4, pulled $13.5 million in wagers and $435,999 in revenue.

ESPN Bet, working with Hollywood Casino, logged $11.9 million in bets and $995,947 in revenue. Caesars, also at Kansas Crossing, brought up the rear with $8.4 million in wagers and $297,245 in revenue.

What Powered April’s Surge?

April’s sports lineup: NCAA Final Four, NBA and NHL playoffs, NFL Draft kept bettors busy, though it couldn’t top March Madness, per the data.

The 9.2% handle growth and 26.6% revenue boost over April 2024 signal a maturing market since Kansas went live in 2022. A better hold than March’s upset-heavy tournament helped, with favorites delivering for books.

Operators pushed hard with promos. DraftKings’ parlay deals and FanDuel’s odds boosts keep players in the game.
