Kansas with New Record Handle in November
November handle numbers mark a 5.5% increase over the previous high set in October. Of the total, $279 million came from online bets, while retail sportsbooks contributed nearly $12 million. The activity generated $25.5 million in revenue for operators and brought $2.5 million in tax revenue to the state.
Year-to-date handle reached $1.08 billion, generating over $64.5 million in operator revenue. The state collected more than $6.4 million in tax revenue this fiscal year.
NFL betting, promotional offers, market awareness, and aggressive marketing, as operators ramped up advertising efforts during a critical period in the sports calendar. Those are several key factors that seem to contribute the most to Kansas’s record-breaking performance in November.
DraftKings Leads the Market
DraftKings cemented its leadership position in Kansas, dominating both online and retail markets. With a handle of $128 million, the operator accounted for nearly half of all online bets placed in November, generating $11.7 million in revenue.
In the retail sector, DraftKings, operating out of Boot Hill Casino & Resort, saw $527,000 in handle and $43,772 in revenue.
Performance of Other Online Operators
Kansas has become a highly competitive market, with six online sportsbooks vying for bettors’ attention. Here’s how the other major players performed in November:
- FanDuel: $86.5 million in handle and $8.9 million in revenue.
- BetMGM: $26.2 million in handle and $1.7 million in revenue.

- Fanatics: $12.5 million in handle and $672,738 in revenue.
- ESPN BET: $12.3 million in handle and $786,023 in revenue.
Retail Sportsbooks: A Modest Contributor
Retail sportsbooks played a smaller, yet noteworthy role in Kansas’s record month. The top-performing retail operator was ESPN BET at Hollywood Casino, with $9.1 million in handle and $568,087 in revenue.
FanDuel at Kansas Star Casino followed with $1.5 million in handle and $261,313 in revenue. Caesars at Kansas Crossing did not record any revenue despite a handle of $710,136.
