Caesars Sportsbook Launches 48 Self-Service Kiosks in D.C.
Caesars Sportsbook has expanded its presence in Washington, D.C., with the installation of 48 self-service betting kiosks. These new kiosks replace the previous GambetDC machines, which struggled to gain popularity among local bettors.
A New Standard for Betting Convenience
The Caesars Sportsbook kiosks offer a range of services, including sports betting and cash deposits for mobile accounts linked to the Caesars Sportsbook platform.
Strategically placed across popular retail locations in the District, these kiosks can be found at BP gas stations, Metro Wine & Spirits liquor stores, Flagler Market locations, Citgo gas stations, Food Barn grocery stores, and Patron Convenience Stores.
By introducing these self-service betting kiosks, Caesars strengthens its position in the D.C. gaming market, offering residents and visitors an easier, more accessible way to place sports bets.
Both District officials and local business owners have welcomed Caesars’ initiative, expressing optimism about the potential for increased gambling-related revenue.
“We appreciate the Office of Lottery and Gaming for providing us the opportunity to further our connection with sports fans in our nation’s capital,” said Caesars Digital President Eric Hession. “Our self-service betting kiosks are an excellent addition to our sports wagering options in D.C. Whether sports fans prefer a traditional ticket-in-hand wagering experience or want to simply deposit cash for their mobile app account, our kiosks enhance the premier sports betting experience we offer.”
Discontent with GambetDC
The decision to partner with Caesars followed complaints about GambetDC, which had faced significant customer service challenges. Previously, GambetDC operated as the District’s sole sportsbook provider under an agreement with Intralot.
However, the landscape shifted this summer when D.C. authorities opened the market to additional operators. This move allowed DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Fanatics, and Caesars to introduce their offerings to the District.
The market liberalization has positively impacted betting activity, driving monthly handle increases. October saw record handle of $65 million, a figure that would have been unthinkable during GambetDC’s monopoly.
OLG’s interim executive director Eugene Vlasenko said: “D.C residents and visitors will soon have access to best-in-class sports wagering kiosks at retail locations across the city. We are pleased to partner with Caesars, a key industry player and the leader in retail sport betting operations, which is demonstrating its commitment to the D.C. community.”
