DraftKings Launches First Peer-to-Peer Poker Game with Electric Poker

23.08.2024

DraftKings has made its first foray into peer-to-peer poker with the launch of Electric Poker, a three-handed Sit & Go poker tournament housed within its casino app.

Game Format and Prize Structure

While not a full-fledged online poker client like those offered by industry leaders WSOP.com and PokerStars, Electric Poker mimics similar lottery-style Sit & Go games such as Blast SNGs and Spin & Go tournaments.

Electric Poker is designed with a variable prize pool, where players can win anywhere between two times to 10,000 times their buy-in, adding an exciting lottery-style element to the game.

Featuring two-minute blind levels, the number of levels played before players are forced all-in depends on the size of the prize pool. Buy-ins range from $1 to $25, catering to a wide range of players looking for quick and engaging poker action.

Limited Launch in Michigan

Currently, Electric Poker is only available in Michigan, even though the state allows player pooling with Nevada and New Jersey.

This exclusive launch in Michigan marks DraftKings’ cautious entry into the online poker space, where major competitors like WSOP.com and PokerStars dominate.

Unlike these platforms, which offer comprehensive poker clients separate from their casino offerings, Electric Poker is integrated into the DraftKings Casino app.
