TheLotter Launches in New York, Expanding U.S. Presence
TheLotter, a Malta-headquartered lottery courier service, has officially launched operations in New York, marking its fifth state of operation in the United States.
This expansion positions TheLotter as the fourth lottery courier to enter the Empire State, following Jackpot.com, DraftKings-owned Jackpocket, and Lotto.com.
History and Growth
Founded in 2002 in Europe, TheLotter has a long-standing presence in the lottery courier industry. Despite its early establishment, it has a comparatively smaller footprint in the U.S. market compared to its competitors.
TheLotter debuted in the American market in Texas in 2020, followed by launches in Oregon later that year, Minnesota in 2022, and New Jersey at the start of June 2023.
The New York lottery market is one of the most lucrative in the country, generating $8.3 billion in annual sales. This state presents a unique competitive landscape, as it is the only state where the state-run lottery offers online sales directly from its platform.
Additionally, New York’s lottery market exclusively features draw games, excluding scratch tickets.
Offerings and Services
In New York, TheLotter will provide popular games such as Powerball and Mega Millions, along with other local draws. This expansion aims to cater to the state’s substantial lottery market and meet the demand for convenient online lottery services.
Peggy Daniel, TheLotter’s U.S. General Manager, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “Our launch in New York marks another significant milestone for TheLotter. As someone who grew up in the tri-state area, I am immensely proud that our company has been licensed as a lottery courier in the state. We are thrilled to be able to continue extending our services into additional states in the coming months.”
TheLotter plans to continue its expansion across the United States, with additional states expected to come online in the near future. This strategic growth aims to solidify TheLotter’s presence in the U.S. market and provide more residents with access to convenient online lottery services.
