Esports data platform GRID has formed a partnership with Sportstensor, the official market maker and liquidity provider for Polymarket. Under this new agreement, GRID will function as the official esports data oracle for Sportstensor.

GRID will supply server-level esports data for various game titles to power Sportstensor’s prediction markets. These titles include Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends, and Valorant. This move expands the use of official data into the growing space of predictive markets.

Fueling Prediction Markets

GRID’s primary role is to furnish Sportstensor with verified, rights-compliant data directly from game servers. This data ensures accuracy and resistance to tampering. Sportstensor uses this information to operate prediction markets, which rely on verified data for contract settlement. Within decentralized systems, a data oracle acts as a secure bridge. It transmits verified real-world outcomes, such as match results, to smart contracts for proper resolution.

Leo Chan, Co-founder and CEO of Sportstensor, emphasized the importance of this trust. “Prediction markets depend on trust, not just between traders, but in the accuracy of outcomes that underpin every contract,” Chan said.

He added that choosing GRID ensures their esports markets settle using “verified, rights-compliant data straight from the source.” This depth of official data enables the creation of more engaging markets for users. One example includes predicting the total number of chickens eliminated in a CS2 tournament.

Data Integrity and Market Expansion

Using official, server-level data is key to maintaining market integrity. This foundation ensures that predictions remain fair, transparent, and tamper-proof. The partnership strengthens GRID’s position as a main source for official esports data. It is part of a broader plan to apply verified information to new areas, like predictive markets.

Dominika Szot, VP of Growth at GRID, noted the fit between the industries. “Esports, a sport digital by nature, is a natural fit within that ecosystem,” Szot stated. She confirmed the critical role of data. “Integrity in settlement is critical, and official data provides the foundation to ensure predictions remain fair, transparent, and tamper-proof while adding new dimensions of entertainment value.” GRID has also signed deals with ESL FACEIT Group and Chinese tournament organizer Clavision in recent months.

The financial terms of the agreement were not released.
