BetMGM Promotes Jarrod Schwarz to Chief Operating Officer
BetMGM announced that Jarrod Schwarz, its long-time Chief Product Officer, has been promoted into a newly created role as Chief Operating Officer, giving him direct oversight of product, customer operations, technology and trading.

From Product Architect to Field General
Schwarz has quietly been the architect behind some of BetMGM’s most visible features since joining the brand five years ago. Before that, he helped launch ESPN+ during his seven-year run at Disney, and earlier held key product roles at eBay and Bloomspot. In short, he knows how to scale digital experiences and monetize fandom — exactly the skill set BetMGM needs as it moves from rapid expansion to sustained leadership.
CEO Adam Greenblatt framed the promotion as a way to keep momentum rolling. “Jarrod has been an integral part of our incredible team, building BetMGM into one of the most recognizable and successful brands in sports betting and iGaming,” he said. “I’m confident this change will ensure we continue to deliver exceptional products and experiences to our players.”
For his part, Schwarz called it a “privilege” to step into the new role and said he’s looking forward to “pushing the boundaries of innovation and strengthening our position as a market leader.”
Why This Move Matters
The COO appointment is part of a broader internal realignment: strategy, corporate development and select business development functions are sliding under the finance group led by CFO Gary Deutsch. BetMGM also recently carved out separate iGaming and sports verticals under Oliver Bartlett and Raymond Doyle, respectively.
For an operator active in 29 markets with both mobile and retail offerings, these moves are a signal of a shift from launch mode to a tighter, more integrated operating model. That’s especially important as competition intensifies and investors expect disciplined growth.
