The global gaming technology company Aristocrat has hired Dylan Slaney, the former CEO of Light & Wonder’s iGaming business, to serve as the new CEO of Aristocrat Interactive.

A New Leader for the Digital Push

The leadership change in the Interactive division will see Moti Malul, who has led the unit for the past 18 months, step down from his role. Malul played a key role in the integration of NeoGames following its acquisition by Aristocrat and the subsequent formation of the Aristocrat Interactive business.

He will be succeeded by Dylan Slaney, a well-known and respected figure in the iGaming industry. Slaney’s most recent role as the head of a major competitor’s digital division makes his appointment a significant strategic hire for Aristocrat. His track record of driving operational excellence is seen as a key asset for the company’s future growth.

“Dylan’s deep iGaming experience and track record of operational delivery will help us accelerate momentum in Aristocrat Interactive, including building on our market-leading position in iLottery, in line with our strategy,” said Aristocrat Group CEO and Managing Director, Trevor Croker.

Slaney is expected to begin his new role on November 3, 2025, pending regulatory approvals, and will be based in London.

Fresh Perspective for Corporate Affairs and Marketing

The changes extend beyond the digital division. Aristocrat also announced that Natalie Toohey, who has served as the company’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for nearly seven years, will be leaving to pursue new opportunities.

She will be replaced by Barry French, who is stepping into an expanded role as Chief Corporate Affairs & Marketing Officer. French is a seasoned executive with a deep background in corporate affairs and marketing, but his experience comes from outside the gaming industry. He has held senior leadership positions at major global companies in the telecommunications and technology sectors, including Inmarsat and Nokia.

This appointment suggests a strategic move by Aristocrat to bring a fresh, global perspective to its corporate and brand strategy.

“I also look forward to Barry further building our reputation and stakeholder relationships, while forging a global Marketing function to better steward our brands and unlock more strategic benefits,” Croker stated. French’s appointment is effective immediately, and he will be based in Las Vegas.

A Strategic Realignment for a New Fiscal Year

Both new executives will report directly to Group CEO Trevor Croker and will join the company’s Executive Steering Committee, a clear indication of the importance of their roles in the company’s future.

“As we begin a new fiscal year, I am pleased to share two leadership appointments that consolidate the strong progress we’ve achieved and will help Aristocrat accelerate delivery of our strategy,” said Croker.
