Aristocrat Interactive is doubling down on Michigan’s digital lottery, landing a six-year deal to keep the state’s iLottery humming with fresh tech and games.

A Major Contract Renewal

Aristocrat Interactive, a NeoGames subsidiary, signed a six-year contract with the Michigan Lottery to deliver its full iLottery suite, starting July 2026.

The deal, with six optional one-year extensions, builds on a partnership launched in 2014 when Michigan debuted its iLottery platform using NeoGames’ tech.

Aristocrat will supply eInstant games, draw-based games, and add-ons from its NeoGames Studio, plus a revamped website and mobile app via Gambyt, a lottery software specialist. The agreement cements Aristocrat’s role as a U.S. iLottery leader, serving eight North American lotteries.

The contract taps Aristocrat’s NeoSphere platform for player accounts, NeoDraw for draw games, NeoCube for business analytics, and NeoEngage for customer experience. Aristocrat will handle CRM marketing, promotions, and customer communications, alongside managed services like staffing, a call center, payment processing, compliance, and responsible gaming tools.

Michigan’s iLottery, a top performer in U.S. gross sales and per-capita revenue, aims to boost its $5.4 billion annual contribution to the School Aid Fund. “This collaboration is a win for players and public education,” said Michigan Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli.

Michigan’s iLottery Legacy

Michigan was among the first states to roll out eInstant games, launching its iLottery in 2014 with NeoGames’ platform. The program now generates over $600 million annually, trailing only retail sales.

With 2.5 million registered players and 70% of sales from mobile devices, Michigan’s digital lottery is a national pacesetter. Aristocrat’s tech upgrades, including Gambyt’s sleek app design, aim to keep it ahead of rivals like Pennsylvania’s iLottery, which hit $1 billion in sales in 2024.

This marks Aristocrat Interactive’s second straight U.S. iLottery contract, following a recent deal in another state. The company, part of Aristocrat Leisure’s digital arm, now powers lotteries in states like New Hampshire and Virginia, leveraging its NeoGames Studio for games like eInstant Cash Blast, a Michigan favorite.

Managing Director Chris Shaban called the agreement a “testament to the proven strength of our platform.” The deal’s focus on responsible gaming aligns with Michigan’s push to curb underage play, a growing concern as iLottery expands.

The new platform launches in July 2026, with Aristocrat rolling out enhanced games and a smoother app experience. If extended, the contract could run through 2038, locking in Aristocrat’s dominance in Michigan’s digital lottery.
